BIG MEK w/ KFF Finished...

...for now, anyway.  There are lots of little things I could tweak and mistakes I could clean up, but I'm satisfied for the moment.  I enjoyed working on him, but I'm also ready to take him off my hobby to-do list.

I kind of regret my attempt at OSL.  I was so locked-in on giving it a try that I overlooked the fact that the most successful examples of OSL make use of a small point of light.  The KFF array represents a large light source, which many painters could pull off, but not me.  I should have chosen a model with a glowing lens or plasma element for my first stab at OSL.

I mentioned in an earlier post that the Mek has the option to carry a burna:

You can see this guy being built here and here, and an earlier stage of painting here.  Next up will probably be quick painting of Boyz mobs and some work on my marines.  More than anything, I'm itching for a game

Looking awesome! The highlights & shading on the skin are great as well as the OSL on the energy coils.

Wow! Thanks for the inspiration on this one. I've been thinking about fielding a kustom force field mek and when I saw this, I dove straight into the cabinet for the Macragge box set and the unused fence towers. I had just bought 10 nobs on ebay and one of them already had a target eye, making him the perfect choice. I also rigged up a flamer for mine instead of the big choppa. Thanks again.

Thanks, Goodson! Let me know where I can check out your Mek, it would be cool to see another version using the Macragge bits.
